Whitman-Hanson 2010 Summer League

Its Playoff Time.....

You kidding me? Playoffs?...Thats right Ladies and Gents the time we have all been waiting for has arrived; PLAYOFFS!!!

After an impressive 9-1 record the RED SQUAD earned itself the #1 seed. No opponent created any trouble this entire season for RED and they are by far the favorites going into the playoffs. They will be matched up against the #4 seed BLACK SQUAD who finished with a record of 1-9. They could not really find itself in the regular season, but hopes to turn it around in the playoffs.

BLUE SQUAD earned the #2 seed with a 6-3 record, but looked a little shaky towards the end of the season. They will be matched up against the #3 seed YELLOW SQUAD. The YELLOW SQUAD  seemed to get it together at the end of the season and looks like they can make a playoff push.

That's the beauty of playoffs...ANYONE CAN MAKE A RUN....WHO WILL IT BE????

Series - Team Yellow - 1-0

Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between Blue and Yellow was nothing short of spectacular. Out of the gate team Blue had their swagger back and Hatfield and company got out to a lead early. The defensive presence of Bertino and Hatfield would have Yellow looking a little deflated and frustrated and Nuby would control the paint down low for the entire first half. Blue would have a 14 point halftime lead and Yellow desperately needed to go to the drawing board. The 2nd half was a totally different story, Yellow came roaring back with the helps of some sharp shooting by Fader and Barron. Yellow did not look like a 3 win team in the second half they had all cylinders working with Ford dropping dimes and Yucius and Edwards controlling the boards this game needed extra minutes. In overtime Mcgonagle would come up clutch with a few good post moves and a couple of free throws and Blue would have the lead with 10 seconds to go. Ford would dribble and look to create and would find Fader with an open look from 3 point land and Bertino would make a costly mistake and foul Fader in the act of shooting and send him to the line for 3 shots. He would make all 3 and that would be the game giving Yellow the 1-0 lead in the best of the 3 series.

Team Blue - 65 vs Team Yellow - 67

Western Conference Finals

 #1 - Team Red (9-1) vs #4 - Team Black (1-9)

Series - Team Red 1-0

In Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals it was the powerhouse Red squad against Black. On paper Red dominates this game and series, but it was Black who gave Red the most trouble in the regular season giving them solid games each time. Playoffs would be no different. Red would get out to an early lead with some solid shooting from Yaedon and tenacious defense by Burnette. In the middle of the first half it looked as if this game was all said and done as Black looked to be unfolding, but with some captain leadership from Nuby and Cina black would storm back make this a game. Brazer would heat up and Weber would continue to suprise everyone with some quality drives to the basket. These two teams would go back and forth for the entire rest of the game. With under 5 seconds to go and Red inbounding the ball Black needed one last stop to try and win this game. A sloppy inbound by Red would have Black sprinting towards the ball but a collision by Nuby and Hurstak would put the ball into James hands with 3 seconds, but a costly air-ball would give Black the ball back with 2 seconds to go. After a time-out Black had called a play and the inbound would come to Cina and he would get a shot off, but it would come up just short as Red would squeek by in Game 1 and have a 1-0 lead in the series.
