Whitman-Hanson Summer League Rules


League Rules


Location: 


All games will be played in Hanover on Myrtle Street. 

Time:

Each game will be played on Sundays first game will be played at 4:00 PM second game starting at 5:00 PM. If a team is more than 20 minutes late, they will be forfeited from that game. Each game consists of two twenty minute halves. The clock will run continuously until the 2 min mark in the second half, before then the clock will only stop on a time-out. After the 2 min mark of the second half the clock will be stopped on any stoppage of play. 

Halftime:

Half time will be 3 minutes. 

Time Outs: 

Each team is allowed (2) timeouts per half. Under the final min of the second half after a time-out the ball will be moved to half court. 

Fouls: 

Each player is allowed (6) personal fouls. After the 6th personal foul that person will be out of the game. If the team does not have another player to substitute in you will have to play with as many players as you have that have not fouled out. 

Free Throws: 

Free throws will be given on any shooting foul and any technical. There will be NO shooting bonuses throughout the game. There will be a 1 and 1 only after the final minute of the game. During a free throw all times can play the release of the shooter. 

Technicals: 

Expression of your view is acceptable, but excessive arguing will result in a technical based on referee judgment. A technical will result in one shot plus possession of the ball. If a player gets (2) technical’s in one game they will be ejected and will sit out the first half of the next week’s game. 


 


Substitutions
Substitutions:
 

Substitutions must only be done on a whistle and stoppage of play. NO on the fly substitutions will be accepted.

 Overtime: 

All overtimes will be 5 min. Clock will run until the final minute under a minute the clock will stop on each stoppage of play. Each team will be awarded 1 timeout per overtime. 

Team Size/Rosters: 

Each team has 8 players. A team will not be allowed to play if they do not have a minimum of 4 players. A team can play with 4 players but the other team can still play with 5 players. 

Schedule/Playoffs:

Regular season will consist of 10 weeks. The playoffs will be a best out of 3 series; 1v4 2v3. If a tie-breaker is needed it will go to head to head record. 

Other Rules: 

In all instances where a dispute comes up the referees knowledge of the rules shall be utilized for any situations that might not be listed.
